Differential locks are mechanically designed to prevent incorrect coupling between the lock and the switch: the power of the lock must always be equal to or greater than that of the circuit breaker. The lateral plastic clamp allows for faster assembly of the block on the circuit breaker and a button prevents possible interventions. It is used to protect human health in the event of an earth fault (electrical leakage) or phase-to-earth electrocution, thus also providing protection against macro electric shocks, both direct and indirect, on exposed persons. The AC type differential block works only with alternating current. Almost all systems for civil use fall into this typology.
